In 2005, Devin Halden Founded and was Executive Director and Head Programmer of Solstice Film Festival (SFF) in the Twin Cities of Minnesota. Solstice Film Festival successfully became one of the top competitive film festivals in the country. Acclaimed for its programming by industry trade journal Variety, SFF became known for discovering hidden talent and content, with films that celebrated independence from the studio system, and for its daring and sometimes controversial programming. SFF was the first film festival to implement online streaming VOD of its programming. Over the years Devin Halden and SFF worked with Warner Bros., DreamWorks, HBO, Picturehouse, IFC and other major, min-major and independent studios.In 2010 Halden stepped down as film festival Executive to launch Pixovi and create Pixovi Movie Network (PMN). After the success of implementing VOD into Solstice Film Festival, Pixovi Movie Network was built to be the everyday destination for indie films. PMN disrupted the industry, fostering global connections among indie filmmakers and introducing Social Cinema—an innovation that bridged continents through movies by allowing viewers from anywhere on the globe to watch a movie and chat in a virtual movie theater.
