I am a United States Air Force Veteran with a passion for technology that dates back to my childhood. I found IT as a career in the Air Force and have since moved on to gain my degree in IT Network administration and security. While achieving my degree and working at UVU I have found my true passion in applying my technical abilities and high standards of excellence to improve operations not only on the 8 person team I supervise but across my entire organization. I have had the opportunity to build out extensive monitoring and alerting solutions using technologies such as, PRTG, Nagios, vRealise Operations, Opsgenie, StatusPage, Prometheus, Splunk, Lumics, AKIPS and more. Gathering all of this information has pushed me to build out a NOC/SOC Dashboarding layout by managing the development of data visualization through tools like Grafana, and the use of custom coded dashboard. As a true nerd I eat, sleep, and sweat technology through things like, pushing my team to move to Kubernettes in preparation for hybrid cloud, or tinkering in my home lab and network. I am constantly looking for the next technology or skill to learn and will always bring those around me with me into the future.
