With more than a year's worth of experience as a co-op at Altec, I've gained a significant amount of knowledge pertaining to mechanical design, analysis, lean manufacturing, and troubleshooting. I've had extensive experience with multiple CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoDesk Inventor, CREO Parametric, AutoCAD, and Draftsight. In addition, I've ran multiple FEA's (Finite Element Analysis) during my time in school and during my co-ops. From my personal experiences, I've enjoying the design and analysis aspects of Mechanical Engineering the most. From creating parts from scratch in CAD to running FEA's to ensure their structural integrity, I've found this to be the most satisfying use of the knowledge I've obtained during my studies.
