During the 2017 school year and summer, I worked with the Journal Sentinel's science writer on a project called Outbreak, which investigates the risk that zoonotic diseases (those that go from animals to humans, like Zika) pose to society. I took two solo-reporting trips for this project, to Miami to cover Zika and to the Florida Keys to cover a debate over GM mosquitoes.I also wrote general pieces including local news, weekend cops, PolitiFact Wisconsin items, arts and festival coverage and community feature pieces.In the 2016 school year, I worked on a 9-month investigative project about local government transparency.

Marquette University, Cobeen Hall

Managing the facilities of a freshman residence hall with nearly 400 freshman. Supervisor of the front desk staff of 19 receptionists and point person for the residence hall director. Professional liaison between maintenance, mechanical, and facilities staff, private contractors, resident assistants and the building's professional live-in staff. Responsible for dealing with any facilities issues in the building and occasionally across campus.Before that, I worked as a resident assistant for two years, supervising and community building with 37 sophomore residents. Responsibilities include policy enforcement, passive and active programming, administrative tasks and information dissemination.

Marquette University

As the Special Projects Editor at the Marquette Wire, I work with three students reporters to develop their skills in producing quality, ethical, investigative journalism. The pieces are long form and require multimedia expertise, and are published in print, magazine and online mediums. I also work across the Wire's five platforms - TV, radio, magazine, newspaper and online - to create integrated content for our audience.
