Since grade 9, I have wanted to become a Chartered Accountant (SA). And I'm glad I'm reaching closer to the dream that is becoming closer to reality. I am big on communication and I make concerted efforts to connect with people, especially with those who have different perspectives and backgrounds than mine. I love working and making small changes in people’s lives that will leave them in a better and more equipped position that they were before.My road has proven to be tumultuous with so many obstacles that I could see and many that I couldn't. However, my determination to reach my goal has instilled resilience in me that even I sometimes find surprising.I am not academically gifted, but I work hard, and smarter when I can. I might make mistakes, but I perform diligently and honestly. I care about the end goal, but the process and the small details are important to me to ensure a near-flawless final product. It might make me an occasional workaholic, but I am gifted with great friends, colleagues and family who have helped me to recognise when I need to have balance.My experience working in the retail sector has taught me patience, ambition and self-confidence. Despite the trials I face, I maintain an energy of laughter and positivity for the benefit of others and myself.As I complete certain milestones of this journey, I cannot wait to achieve more, to keep growing to accomplish my goal of becoming a CA (SA).
