MTN's secure airtime acquisition engine fulfils MTN's virtual airtimes sales across South Africa in real time. The system services several airtime distributors including the 5 major South African banks for a total in excess of 16 million transactions per month and a total revenue of over 350 million rand per month or 4.2 billion rand per year. I personally drafted the functional requirements of the system and was responsible for the design and implementation of several interfaces and system integration standpoints. Vendor management was key to the project and we were able to fulfil the business requirements above and beyond their expectations. The secure airtime acquisition engine is the first platform in South Africa to allow a network to distribute variable valued airtime vouchers to a cent value.I personally planned, drafted the functional requirements and was responsible for MTN's prepaid promotions framework. The promotions framework allows MTN to rapidly take to market prepaid promotions and offerings back boning off of its prepaid billing systems. I personally planned the MTN USSD 141 menu system.
