The California Insurance Guarantee Association handles the claims of insolvent insurance carrier. Presently the claims are primarily workers compensation claims. These claim arise out of the major national insurance insolvencies such as Reliance Nations, Legion, ULLICO and Lumbermens where the claimants reside in California as well as claims of California residents with claims against carriers domiciled in California. My position is roughly equivalent to the CIO position and I am responsible for the claim and document management applications as well as the overall IT operation.
