  • Ridgewood Awning Company
    Secretary
Ridgewood Awning Company Jun 2010 - Present
    Greater New York City Area
This is my father's company, I have worked for him on and off for years now. I only work for him while I am seeking out another position for myself. I answer calls, take messages, schedule appointments, file client documents and keep the shop organized. I also have participated in painting company logo's as well as names onto the final awning. I also work with clients one on one and will either send them books/samples of awning colors/patterns and so on. Some clients will communicate via email/phone. Other clients I will go to their homes with books of samples and assist them on their final decisions. I do not get paid or anything and work for him really when he is busy, considering it is a very seasonal job.
  • Alba Women'S Contemparay Clothing And Accessories Boutique
Fashion Stylist And Fashion Sales Associate
Alba Women'S Contemparay Clothing And Accessories Boutique 2015 - 2016
    Ridgewood,Nj And Hoboken,Nj
Working at this boutique is when I truly succeeded in my job and gained a ton of knowledge and experience. This so far is by far my favorite place I had worked for because here since we had two locations at the time, obviously the boss is not always going to be at which ever boutique location you are working at. It was always myself and one more co-worker working at the time and once a week it would be myself and the boss/owner of the boutique working together for the day. At Alba they carried some brands you can get at most boutiques and larger company stores such as Bloomingdale's. But, for the most part all of the clothing was by brands/designers you would not come across very easily and only really could purchase pieces online. My boss was truly amazing at what she did and she would include you in on important things because she herself wanted you too learn and experience as much as you could by working for her. A few examples of this are that she let us have our input on the buying process and would actually listen to you if you had an idea for the store or came across a brand that you really felt would do well at the store and she would actually listen to suggestions and check into it. Another example is that the store's associates did everything, when we received new inventory we had to not only check it in and make sure our order slip matched our received shipment/and that all matched up with our order slip and the items. Of course we had to unpack the new items, switch the hangers and steam anything that needed it and so on. But, we also were the ones responsible for adding the new inventory into the hard copy official inventory in the computer of the entire store. Towards the end of my time there is really when I succeeded and made me proud due to being responsible about four to five days of the week, to open and close the store by myself. As well as work completely by myself in the boutique those days.
  • Anik
    Fashion Sales Associate/ Stylist
    Anik 2010 - 2015
    Englewood/Manhatten
I worked at this boutique two different time periods of my life, when I first worked their it was from 2009-2010 and was my very first job. I was basically thrown into the job and expected to catch on/learn the brands/designers as well as my personal tasks extremely quickly, with help of course. Being kind of thrown into the job actually forced me to become a quicker and fast paced learner. Here is where I truly learned how to sell as well as approach customers and how too help them by the stores policies. At first working in an environment that was so fast paced and where you truly had to know what you were talking about, keeping confident and being extremely energetic and outgoing. I truly was scared, insanely shy and beyond prettified of failing or messing up. I soon began to become more comfortable since I knew if I did not make personal changes and overcome my fears than it would just end up with myself being fired and leaving with a ton of regrets. I got so so very blessed with getting this job considering I did not even do an interview and I just kept being extremely persistent with them because I do recall going into the store at least two-three times asking if they had found someone to take over the position and if not I whole heatedly wanted to work there. That completely worked in my favor and I got a call and was told to come in such and such day and that is when I would be trained. I know at first even though I was very shy and such, my boss could tell how hard of a worker I really am, how much effort I was putting into the job as well as how quickly I was able to catch onto things and learn things as well as listened exceptionally well.
  • Wink Retail Group
    Sales Associate
    Wink Retail Group 2012 - 2013
I enjoyed the switch from working for Anik to working for Wink very much so and working here I was given a lot more freedom also meaning a lot more responsibilities. Not only did we never work with our bosses, it was always either myself and assistant manager, myself, the assistant manager and the manager or just myself and manager running the store. Not only did that make it a nice change for me but at Wink unlike at Anik, we had sold shoes, bags, jewelry, sunglasses as well as watches. So working here I was able to be educated and experienced on not only just primarily selling just clothing. One of the very famous Fashion Jewelry designers we sold had a lot of customization pieces, so here is where I learned how to speak to vendors, representatives.
