• Performed environmental Assays on species distribution and population as well as monitoring of environmental conditions and ecological health of biological systems in Portland including forests, wetlands and watersheds on amphibians, reptiles, salmon, and corvid populations. Learned about the deleterious effects of environmental conditions, and stressors including carcinogens, mutagens and other teratogenic compounds and how to monitor or detect their influences within populations. Learned best practices regarding child-development and associated risk factors as well as warning signs. Studied extensive human relations information regarding team-building and management. More than 20 credit hours including upper-division work.

• Learned and Performed extensive chemical manipulations, distillations and reactions utilizing inorganic chemistry principles. Learned and Performed identification, hazard and reactivity measurements. Learned and performed utilization of lab equipment including Vernier Lab Pro, Gas Chromotography, Distillation and Spectroscopy. Performed hazard assessments and monitoring of local environment using best practices. Worked as a Hazardous Waste disposal technician for the Portland-Metro area. More than 30 credit hours of Chemistry with associated lab work including extensive upper-division courses.

• Required coursework for science degrees included a large amount of calculus-based physics including thermodynamics, and kinetics. Took advanced coursework regarding advanced directed radiation techniques and their use in health, earth sciences and research including development and refinement of advanced DNA sequencing, PET, MRI and X-Ray technologies as well as various forms of ionizing radiation and their effects and use regarding current medical and health technology.
