Teacher of Performing Arts (Dance pathway). working with students aged 16-19 to gain there level 2 or 3 Diploma in Performing Arts under the UAL syllabus. Planning and delivering lessons for Dance and Musical Theatre students using a range of practitioners, dance styles and techniques. Planning and creating choreography for shows such as Once on this Island, Seussical the Musical and The Music Man.Marking students works and providing helpful feedback and smart targets in order to help students continue to improve.Other responsibilities include -Working and communication with the Performing Arts Staff.-Extra hours to staff shows and performances - invigilators for GCSE exams.- student interviews.- open evening and partners evening.

Leeds City College

During my PGCE I worked 3 days at week at Leeds City College during my placement. I worked with Level 2 and 3 Dance, Physical Theatre and Musical Theatre. During my time at Leeds I learnt how to create and mark work under the BTEC syllabus and was able to create choreography/written work which was in keeping with the syllabus and specific subject areas. I have learnt how to adapt to students needs, provided useful feedback and how to use direct and open questioning. I was also able to accompany the physical theatre students during there aerial Hoop and silks class, which I enjoyed as this was a new skill which I have also learnt and will continue to develop. I keep up today with ICT by using google drive, padlet during my sessions. I finished my teaching observations with a level 1 'Outstanding'. I am adaptable and can open work confidently with different groups in the performing arts department. I am friendly, approachable and always make time to help students catch up in order to progress.

I am the owner and Principal of DB Academy which is located at two venues across York. The school has over 45 students aged between 3-15 who study a wide range of dance styles, such as ballet, tap, modern, contemporary and performing arts. We also hold holiday workshops and private classes. During this time I arranged workshops and shows which was held across York.

During my time at Yorkshire Rose Academy of Dance, I worked two days a week with students aged between 3-17 teaching modern, tap, ballet, musical theatre, contemporary and street. Other roles included opening and closing studio, taking payment and communicating with parents. Lessons and schemes of work was planned well in advance to ensure organised lessons and progression of students.

I worked at RB Academy of Dance as a dance teacher and in July 2016 I took over as Principle of the school. I worked under the organisation of IDTA teaching ballet, street, musical theatre and modern jazz. Other job roles include taking payments and creating termly invoices.

During my time at E.N.A Dance I worked with students aged 7-13 teaching Acting, Physical Theatre and Musical Theatre. I do weekly risk Assessment to make sure the students remain safe and I track each students process throughout the session.I was able to arrange workshops and help with the planning of shows which was held at the Plowright Theatre During my time at the school, the students performed there first showcase at the Plowright Theatre performing Matilda the musical.

Main DutiesAttitude Theatre ArtsI begin the day by setting up the studio, making sure the studio is safe and getting equipment set up ready for class.At the beginning of the class I make sure attendance is taken and that all students are warmed up. Session are always planned so the class remains organised. I am adaptable and was willing to adapt plans on the spot due to attendance and room changes.I also got some management experience during the principals maternity leave where I was the sole teacher . I learnt how to to arrange monthly invoices, collect money and send them to the owner.
