• On completion of my cadetship, I undertook a single trip contract as an additional fourth (Junior) engineer on a crude oil tanker. As an additional fourth engineer I:
• Undertook UMS and engine room watches throughout my contract to a very high standard with real attention to detail, ensuring any abnormal findings were dealt with suitably and brought to my superior’s attention to.
• Frequently prepared/shut down the steam turbine cargo plant and inert gas system for cargo operations using Alfa Laval Aalborg auxiliary boilers for port, ship to ship, and FPSO operations worldwide.
• Thoroughly, maintained and repaired designated machinery on-board as per the planned maintenance system (AMOS), which included GEA WESTFALIA fuel oil, lubricating oil and oily water separators, Hyundai Atlas.
• In control of sludge and bilge operations and completing the oil record book correctly on completion of sludge and bilge operations.

• During my time undertaking a cadetship I:
• Gained 8 months and 24-day sea time across three different product/chemical tankers and crude oil tankers.
• Understudied all engineers on-board with scheduled maintenance, corrective maintenance, and conditional maintenance, particularly the 4th and 3rd engineers allowing myself to gain valuable experience and a strong.
• Regularly undertook UMS and engine room watches under an engineer’s supervision, gaining experience completing engine room workarounds and logbooks, noticing unusual trends or abnormal findings, and the best practices.
