As a youth leader with CPYM my responsibilities include anything that has to do with discipling and mentoring students in Perry County, more specifically in the Millerstown/Newport area.More specifically, I am responsible for facilitating Breakfast Club, our youth group that meets during the week and focuses on studying the scriptures, and ITS, our smaller youth group that during the summer months is more activity focused. Although it is outside of what I was expecting to work with, I am also helping to lead Kid's Garden Club, which meets monthly and teaches children how to garden, make fun crafts, and gives them a practical Bible lesson to go home with.I was also a small group leader at our Summer Camp in Ocean City New Jersey, there I was responsible for teaching, supervising, bonding with, and answering the questions of a group of 5 young men. During the week I had a handful of personal meetings with students seeking advice, a friend to talk to, or answers.

Over the past few months I have been working with the Greenwood School District to install a new public announcement system for the High School and Elementary School buildings. This has involved pulling thousands of feet of Cat-5 and Cat-6 wires and speaker wires, punching down wires into keystone jacks, punching down wires into patch panels, testing wires, replacing wires, installing new speakers in classrooms, wiring in speakers and horns, electrical work at wall receptacles, hanging TV mounts, reading diagrams and maps of buildings, and a lot more. Because of all this time spent in the unseen and unknown parts of both the High School and Elementary School buildings I have gained a detailed knowledge of these buildings that would be beneficial in future projects with the district.

As a student tech my main responsibility was to man the front desk in the tech office and work with the students or teachers that came in with problems to troubleshoot. But the other interns and I more often than not found ourselves moving around the campus to work on a smattering of projects in the high school and elementary school buildings. Such as setting dozens electronically synchronized clocks to the right time after a system malfunction, checking a list of approved websites to make sure they are secure for students to use, manually updating iPads, boxing up old Chromebooks to send to a recycling company, among other projects.
