•In accordance with the Linehaul plan, directs the dispatch of transportation equipment. •Ensures Linehaul dispatch and arrival rules are followed according to defined Company procedures. •Coordinates cargo shipments to maximize the trailer volume while meeting package delivery obligations. •Enters dispatch events into an online system (TMS) to ensure on time delivery and pick up of trailers. •Verifies the location of equipment in the dispatch system by completing yard inventories. •Verifies the load/unload status of trailers by completing yard checks. Timely reports missing equipment. •Follows and communicates safety initiatives to ensure a safety-conscious culture. •Investigates and reports schedule delays, accidents and equipment failures and implements contingency plans which ensure on-time load delivery in the event of an en-route breakdown or accident. •Reviews and communicates Department of Transportation (DOT) roadside violations to management. •Coordinates with the Safety and Maintenance departments to monitor the monthly tractor safety inspections and ensure annual certificates are obtained in compliance with the DOT. •Reviews trailer load condition reports (TLCR’s ) to ensure proper completion
