• Plan and execute logistics for donor cultivation and stewardship events at The Brookings Institution, a nonprofit public policy organization with a mission to provide independent research and analysis on the most important issues facing the world today.• Organize annual meetings of Brookings Board of Trustees and International Advisory Council, consisting of multiple days and nights of programming (panels and keynote speakers), business meetings, excursions, offsite dinners, etc. Responsible for agenda development, speaker outreach and coordination, budgeting, site selection, venue/vendor management, invitation design, menu design, management of audio/visual, creation of run of show documents and timelines, staffing assignments, group transportation, hotel room blocks, etc. • Instrumental in researching and executing offsite Board meetings, international Board meetings, Board retreats, Executive Committee meetings, and study tours. Executed Brookings first international Board meeting in Mexico City in 2016. • Plan and execute approximately 40 Brookings Council and Brookings Society events per year, held in Washington, DC, New York, Boston, San Francisco, and Seattle. Collaborate with Development officers and each event’s host and speaker to conceptualize event location, topic, format, attendees, menu, etc. Manage venue selection and coordination, budgeting, catering, audio/visual, timelines, invoice reconciliation, and onsite staffing. • Draft and maintain budgets for Council and Society events, Board meetings and Executive Committee meetings. • Supervise Special Events Coordinator, including overseeing attendee management, communication schedules, registration, and materials for each event.
Senior Manager, Events & Meetings
• Produce monthly events of 350-800 attendees each for The Economic Club of Washington, D.C., the premier forum for leaders. The Economic Club is a membership organization and speaker forum comprised of over 700 of D.C.’s top business leaders at the forefront of the private sector economy.• Directly manage over 30 events featuring top echelon speakers, including Bill Gates, Jeffrey Immelt, Ginni Rometty, Eric Schmidt, Rex Tillerson, Donald Trump, and Janet Yellen.• Represent the organization to foreign dignitaries, prominent business leaders, and government officials.• Administer the launch of the Club’s Global Initiative, through partnership with embassies and targeting of international speakers.• Spearhead contract negotiations with event venues, caterers, and AV/production companies.• Coordinate event details including; secure event space, design ballroom layout, select menu, develop program content, meet with the speaker’s team, secure AV production needs, manage event staff, oversee event run of show.• Advance resource development in the form of securing and maintaining relationships with annual and event sponsorships.• Manage operations in the office of the Executive Director. Responsible for liaising with department managers, assessing and developing recommendations for operational and organizational improvements.• Oversee recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and supervision for upwards of 8 permanent and temporary employees.

• Oversee pre-event and onsite registration for monthly and special events.• Draft and send event invitations, reminders, and confirmations.• Present budget, attendance and financial reports for events and sponsorships.• Coordinate and support board and committee meetings through development of agendas and materials and oversee completion of resulting action items.• Responsible for all accounts receivable processes and coordination of the annual audit reconciliations.• Create techniques to enhance member engagement resulting in an increase in event attendance.• Manage implementation and optimization of registration software system.• Manage registration and accounts receivable for the Club’s 25th Anniversary Gala in June 2012 featuring Warren Buffett. The attendance for this dinner was 1,600 guests and $1 million dollars was raised.
