During my undergraduate studies at Endicott College I contracted with the MIT ROTC program in Cambridge, Massachusetts where we were trained to become newly commissioned Soldiers. Following my graduation and commissioning I joined the Maine Army National Guard and attended Basic Officer Leader Course (BOLC) for Military Intelligence. After graduating from this I took a position at the Maine Army National Guard's Joint Force Headquarters(JFHQ) as the Special Security Officer (SSO). In this position I worked on various operational tasks at the State level and focused primarily on coordinating the construction of a sensitive compartmented information facility (SCIF) and reviewing physical security/information security programs of the units within the State. After 8 months of working at JFHQ I deployed with the 286 CSSB to Poland in 2019 in support of Operation Atlantic Resolve. It was here that I employed my Intelligence Preparation of the Battlefield skills in developing briefs to our Commander and the convoys on how to mitigate risk due to various terrain and weather impacts. We also participated in a joint training exercise with multinational units known as Combined Resolve. Upon returning home from this deployment, I began my first year of law school at the University of Maine School of Law. Between my 1L and 2L year, I attended Military Intelligence Captain's Career Course (MICCC) and am now a First Lieutenant promotable to Captain. I graduated UMaine Law in May 2023 and am currently working at Unum as a Sr. Compliance Manager on the Privacy Team in the Legal Department.
