I'm an Evergreen graduate with a strong background in both biology and visual arts. I've always had a passion for wildlife, nature, and the processes that make life itself possible. My studies at Evergreen allowed me to combine my interests in both science and art in several courses. For example, my final course at Evergreen combined both marine biology and traditional animation, and culminated in the creation of a nonfiction animated short about the tintinnid ciliate Tiarina. I have been actively seeking employment in the field of biological science since my graduation at Evergreen, but unfortunately have not had much luck in my search. In the meantime, I have been taking temporary work, and taking small-scale art and photography commissions. I am currently seeking lab and research positions in the science sector. I am diligent in lab protocol and safety procedures, including handling glassware and chemicals. I am proficient in use of compound scopes, and have experience preparing slides for microscopes. I have studied genetics at Evergreen, including that of the model organism Drosophila melanogaster, and have bred and maintained D. melanogaster strains for genetic research projects. As nature is a major passion of mine, I've enjoyed being out in the field both for recreational purposes and for academic purposes. I have field experience from my courses at Evergreen, including avian population monitoring, and botanical surveys. I've taken nature photographs for my courses at university, for personal use, and for clients. While I am currently seeking a position in a lab, at a set location, I would not be opposed to positions that take work into the field.
