My role as an archival assistant involves the accessioning, processing, and digitization of materials relevant to the university and wider Antigonish community. Utilizing RAD-compliant cataloguing via the Eloquent archival management system, I have been able to catalogue various types of materials, from paper records to born-digital items. I frequently conduct reference services, collaborate with fellow library staff to develop outreach events, and develop exhibits to bring attention to the archives and its collection.

As a part-time replacement for a fellow librarian on leave, I conducted reference services for students and community members, assisted with and implemented library instruction during university courses, developed library resource reviews for proposed courses, utilized Alma for creating resource lists, and created LibGuides to help orient students with library resources.

I was hired to inventory, arrange, and catalog the "Peterson Papers collection," which was donated to the museum by a local historian, Tom Peterson, in order to preserve his lifetime of historical research. My position involved physical and intellectual arrangement of the collection based upon archival best practices, cataloging according to RAD principles, development of digitization and preservation procedures, training and supervising of volunteers to digitize the materials, and development of promotional materials for the collection.

My position as a research assistant for a librarian at Leddy Library was focused on local history projects about the experience of Black individuals in Windsor-Essex. These projects include: "Breaking the Colour Barrier: Wilfred "Boomer" Harding & the Chatham Coloured All-Stars (1932-1939)" and "The North Was Our Canaan: Exploring Sandwich Town's Underground Railroad History". My work involved archival research, best practices for handling and digitizing archival materials, and cataloging relevant metadata.
