Responsible for creating engaging student-focused learning opportunities and environments, as well as regular teaching duties. Began and lead regular meetings to support teachers interested in using inquiry spelling within their classrooms. Units designed to meet the ESL needs of the students.Students were set independent tasks in mathematics to provide one-to-one instruction time.In addition, taught art grade 1-9; collaborated with the music teacher to develop set design unit for students to create the background for the winter concert. Initiated and facilitated the student-run school newsletter and mentored the rotating editors.While the grade 3 homeroom teacher, became the acting lead teacher from March - June 2009, managing staff/planning meetings and organized the submission of planners and reports to the main campus for publication to the Japanese government.

Through student interviews, assessed, then implemented differentiated literacy and numeracy programs. Guided reading and numeracy groups fostered independence and socialization through the use of games and individual learning tasks. Collaborated with colleagues and parent volunteers to teach netball and swimming.
