I began my career as a Human Resource Generalist with Tower International supporting 650 people in three locations in Kentucky. Early in my role with Tower I lead the recruiting activities for the professional positions within our team, optimized employee engagement within our team and assisted in the management of our training program. Along with my fellow HR team members we support the needs of the many colleagues in our plant ranging from benefits, colleague leave, colleague relations, candidate on boarding, employee retention and policy deployment. As the Manager of Human Resources my role is much more strategic focusing on the research, planning and development of the HR function. Working to help guide the our HR team, the plant and company to develop ways that help us stand out as the employer of choice is an important aspect of my role. Total compensation, policy development, direct relationship strategy, colleague engagement and creative recruiting techniques are a few of the areas of focus I have.

As the HR Manager at Flex Films USA, Inc. I was brought on board in the early stages of the greenfield project. Along with other managers and experts from the films industry were tasked with staffing the plant for the new manufacturing operation. Along with the recruiting for the plant I have been tasked with setting up the entire HR function here at the Elizabethtown, Kentucky facility.

While working at Summit Polymers Inc. I had the opportunity to become very diverse in my skill set. When starting my career at Summit Polymers, Inc. I worked in the Quality Arena as a Quality Engineer. I had the challenge of developing my problem solving abilities quickly to meet the needs of the demanding industry I was in. While working as a Quality Engineer I learned the PPS methodology often used at Toyota. While I am not an engineer by trade I was very successful in resolving problems because I would ask questions that a training engineer would not typically ask. After working for some time in the Quality field, I promoted to a Supervisor position in our Finishing and Assembly department. Having spent the time working as a Supervisor prepared me for becoming a solid HR Manager because I could fully understand the rigors that our production team was faced with on a day to day basis. After approximately a year in the production setting I promoted to the role of Human Resource Management where I had responsibility for a team of 3 direct reports, the Safety and Environmental programs within the plant along with the Human Resource function.
