I am a recent graduate from Brock University, where I obtained a bachelor degree with honours in Psychology. I pursued this degree because it sparked my interest in maturation and development. I have a growing interest in gerontology and am looking for opportunities to work in long-term care or retirement homes to provide support for the aging population. I am currently pursuing a Human Resource Management program at Niagara College, following my undergraduate degree in Psychology from Brock University. My goal is to work closely with others to improve their lives, and I am enthusiastic about leveraging my skills and knowledge in individual differences, motivation, emotion, and stress to contribute effectively in HR roles. I am committed to creating safe, healthy, and fulfilling work environments and look forward to applying what I have learned to make a positive impact.More specifically, I am interested in exploring how to facilitate the integration of new technology for older generations in the workplace. As technology continues to advance and become more prevalent, it is important to examine how long-standing employees in an organization are adapting to these changes and how we can support them in effectively using new tools and systems.Currently in the Human Resource Management program at Niagara college, I am learning about HRIS systems, financial accounting (ex. Balance sheets), personality, the importance of diversity in the workplace, outsourcing and many more intriguing and valuable aspects of human resource management! Due to my experience in both my studies and my work history, I have the following skills: Active listening, conflict resolution, team building, consideration, cultural awareness and interpersonal communication and relationship building. These skills and knowledge I have to offer provide me with the ability to foster exceptional service, all while being kind and respectful towards my peers and coworkers. I look forward to being able to implement them into future volunteer and career opportunities.
