Rear Detachment, 203D Bsb, 3Hbct, 3Rd Infantry Division, Fort Benning, Ga
Signal Officer and Special Projects Officer for a Rear Detachment Brigade Support Battalion. Responsible for advising the Battalion Commander and subordinates on all aspects of garrison communications networks and assets to include communications security, automations and video teleconferencing (VTC). Charged with overseeing the operation of the Battalion communications shop to include direct level maintenance, NIPR/SIPR connectivity and preparation for redeployment. Exercise staff supervision over communications training, personnel and equipment. As the Special Projects Officer, served as a Delegate at the FY09 Fort Benning, GA Army Family Action Plan conference and was chosen to brief the Commanding General on the work group's initiatives. Also served as the Summary Courts Martial Officer for 3 SCMs and the Investigative Officer for an Article 32(b) hearing which helped lead to the Service Member's conviction. While working with the S-4 (Logistics) shop, served as the Investigative Officer for 3 Financial Liability Investigations of Property Loss, all of which were closed out in a timely manner. Coordinated Morale Welfare and Recreation funds and organized a Battalion Bowling event for the 203D families. As the Rear Detachment S-6, closed out nearly 100+ work orders, prepared the Battalion for effective communications during redeployment and reintegration ensuring all user accounts, computers, printers, phones and faxes were set-up, reimaged and active for all Commanders, First Sergeants and Primary Staff. Oversaw all troubleshooting that took place during this process and actively worked with the Brigade S-3 (intel)/6 shops in order to obtain SIPR reaccreditation for the Battalion HQ.Stepped into the role of Rear Detachment Commander for 203D Brigade Support Battalion that resulted in outstanding performance of the unit each time served.
