Perkins+Will is recognized as one of the industry’s preeminent sustainable design firms. In my role in the Toronto office, I worked with clients to establish sustainability goals for projects, helped facilitate charrettes and client meetings, and liaised with consultants, clients, and the design team to administer LEED documentation for projects from design concept through construction. I also worked on energy, water and carbon benchmarking studies and provided advice on healthy material and wellness strategies.

At UBC's Sustainability Initiative I worked on the Regenerative Neighbourhoods Project, which seeks to create a sustainability framework for the campus by exploring and catalyzing the emergence of regenerative, net-positive neighbourhoods, firstly on the UBC Campus, and secondly in the wider community. My role was to assist the project manager with planning/design research, writing, and graphic design help as needed.

Worked on an inter-departmental research grant aimed at improving decision-making with regard to energy systems design for green building projects on UBC campus. In my role, I conducted interviews, coordinated research, assessed architecture plans, and wrote reports for the project team (made up of faculty from architecture, planning, computer science, and civil engineering).

Worked on the development of a green building checklist and guide for the City of Edmonton. Project involved researching best practices with regard to green building checklists and their implementation at the municipal level. Internship also involved assisting in other planning duties (such as proposal and report writing) as needed.

Santa Fe, New Mexico Area

Developed and updated case studies of past projects at this regenerative design and planning firm. Internship involved interviewing project leads, researching sustainable projects, and writing case studies for public consumption.
