About Devon Murray Ba Cyc
As a Program Manager at PLEA Community Services, I oversaw the Daughters and Sisters program, which provides support and advocacy for young women who were mandated by the courts to address their problematic substance use. These young women were often also involved in gangs, at risk of, or experiencing homelessness, facing mental health and/or concurrent disorders as well as several other difficulties. I held this role for over six years, and successfully led the program development, implementation, and evaluation, as well as the staff supervision, training, and coaching.I have a Bachelor's degree in Child and Youth Care and over 20 years of experience working with vulnerable populations in various capacities. I have a passion and a talent for helping people discover and articulate their strengths, and I have facilitated workshops on topics such as harm reduction, addiction, life skills, and employment readiness as well as conducted complex case reviews to assess service delivery effectiveness. I have also developed strong relationships with community partners and stakeholders, and I have contributed to the advocacy and awareness of the issues facing vulnerable people in our society.
