​I  was born in Montreal, Quebec and raised in the suburbs south of Montreal in a town called St-Hubert; I am both English and French-speaking. From the age of six, my parents signed me up for organized basketball; from there, I continued playing many different sports. For as long as I can remember, my life has revolved around education and sports; I'm still doing the same thing twenty years later. Education has always been important to me; keeping my grade up has allowed me to do extra-curricular activities, which ended up getting me a full scholarship at McGill university. At Mcgill university in 2013, I took a marketing and human resources certificate and played for the varsity football team for three years. Mcgill university is where I started working in the sports, fitness and recreation industry; I started working at the McGill gym and volunteered with intramural sports on campus. I spent the next couple of years chasing my dreams to become a professional football player; I attended the CFL combine in 2016 and had a couple of CFL tryout opportunities. Football led me to Fort Mcmurray AB, where I played semi-professional football with the fort McMurray Monarchs. While I was in fort McMurray, I got a Job at Macdonald Island park as a sports and fitness specialist, the largest recreation center in Canada. Here is where I fell in love with the recreation side of this industry; making schedules and programs allowing people in the community to participate in activities gives me joy. After a year and a half working there, I decided to return to school and pursue an education in sports and recreation management. I chose Vancouver Island University, where I wanted to spend my next four years. At VIU, I graduated with a bachelor of tourism management, majoring in recreation and sports management with an event planning certificate. I got the job at VIU gym, where I spent all four years working; while I was at the gym on the fitness side moved up from work OP to work OP 2 to become a casual gym attendant, where I had more responsibilities. On the recreational side, I started referring intramurals leagues. A year later, I became the intramural lead, where I ran tournaments and special events. In my final year at VIU, I wanted to get more involved to have an impact on campus; I was the director of events for the student union; there is where I learned a lot about leadership, event playing, boards and committees and community and myself.
