Prior to joining Broward County Government, I had a diverse and dynamic legal career in the private sector having served as General Counsel for a travel industry franchisor and practicing complex commercial litigation and transactions with boutique firms serving franchisees and franchisors. Service and servant leadership are cornerstones of my personal and professional life. I am a Past- President of the Caribbean Bar Association and a Class IV Fellow of the Florida Bar's Wm. Reece Smith, Jr. Leadership Academy. I am one of the founding members of the Judicial Diversity Initiative and I have been recognized as a Top 40 Under 40 Black Leader of Today and Tomorrow by Legacy Magazine and as a Super Lawyers Rising Star in 2015, 2016, and 2017.And, last but not least, I am blessed with a very sassy and magical daughter “JulieMango” who has planned our family vacations since age 4.
