I am a disciplined individual who takes pride in the work that I produce for myself and others. I love to take on new challenges and expand my horizons with new and exciting opportunities. During college I started a custom metal fabrication business in the Salt Lake County area. I have built over 100 custom products for clients, have had my work featured in the 2021 Salt Lake Parade of Homes, and have learned many different skills and lessons. Some of the skills include leadership of a small team, the importance of great customer service, and communication with contractors and clients.I have always had a fascination with aerospace. During my time at the University of Utah I have been able to further explore that fascination and develop valuable skills for industry through courses such as aerodynamics, aircraft design, and finite element analysis. For my senior capstone project, I had the opportunity to work on an automated mechanical testing integration robotic arm for NASA. For this project I developed the backend code with Python. Built a graphical user interface (GUI) for the user to easily interact with robotic arm, used robotic arm kinematics to improve the repeatability and accuracy of coupon placement, and helped with the implementation of message queueing telemetry transport (MQTT). I was also the leader of this project, I made sure that we were meeting deadlines that we had set for ourselves, helped coordinate with professors and lab managers to use testing equipment, and helped each group member exercise their strengths throughout the project.

Mechanical Engineering InternWestech Engineering May 2022 - Aug 2022Salt Lake City, Utah, United StatesDuring this internship I had the opportunity to experience a variety of roles. I experienced being an estimator, project manager, and designer. Within each of these roles I helped improve some of the processes that are currently in place. For the estimators, I designed a calculation sheet to assist the process of sizing and bidding dewatering equipment based on process information that is provided by the client. I also automated the process of writing equipment proposals by using VBA within the calculation sheet along with templates that I had made to work seamlessly with each other.I worked with the designers to create 2D drawings for standardized dewatering equipment. I also assisted in the process of creating 3D models for standard dewatering equipment. These were both done using Autodesk Inventor. I assisted the project managers by revising each of the checklists that are used during different phases in each of the projects. I was also the lead project manager for a capital spare parts order worth over $150,000. As the project manager of this order, I worked with the purchasing department as well as vendors to ensure the correct parts were being purchased and would comply with the timeline that had been agreed upon with the customer. I also worked with inspectors to ensure that the parts we ordered were compliant with the customers inspection plan. I was able to increase the profit margins on this order by 21%.I also worked with other groups to assist in their projects. I worked with the rental asset group by leading the effort to gather pricing for the refurbishment of a newly acquired asset. I determined which parts needed replacement by referring to drawings and parts lists that were previously made when the asset was sold to the original client. I was then able to then communicate with vendors to gather information such as cost and lead time. This information was then relayed to the project manager and used to bring the asset back to life.
