I have been teaching character design to professionals and beginners alike. This course is ten weeks of classes over the course of a semester. I am combining lectures, demos, one-on-one mentoring, class critique and exercises to convey how I think of character design. I have approached this course from a design-heavy angle, focusing not only on the execution of appeal but also the execution of intent by the artist. Graduating students learn how to art direct themselves and work in the field as designers.
