Maintain responsibility for prosthetic/orthotic scheduling at assigned clinic. Answer phones and address patient inquiries contacting provider as necessary.Gather demographic and insurance information for new orthotic/prosthetic referrals.Maintain Practitioner’s schedule, communicating changes appropriately. Create and maintain orthotic medical record from evaluation through discharge. Create prosthetic medical record upon first visit and forward to prosthetist for ongoing care. Check in all patients as they arrive. Review new patient forms for accuracy. Prep all orthotic charts for clinic 3 days in advance. Complete Insurance Checklists and forward to Insurance Specialist each morning. Once returned, contact all patients with benefit information.Maintain responsibility for tracking status of all accounts until patient approval to proceed is received. Coordinate the full cycle of care by maintaining an aggressive follow up system at minimum on a weekly basis to assure each patient receives his/her device in a timely manner. Maintain ongoing communication with MPO clinicians regarding any care issues.Assure all required information has been obtained and is accurate and complete before fitting appointments including prior authorization, ABNs, Therapeutic Shoe Certifications, Detailed Written Orders, and reverification of active insurance if patient is insured by a Medicaid or Medicaid Replacement policy.Collect and enter co-insurance payments as indicated.Upon patient fitting, perform MPO chart/ APM review to assure accuracy prior to billing process. Forward daily fittings to Business Operations Manager by end of next business day.Room patients and prepare for exam. Maintain an efficient, organized clinical flow. Gather and verify pertinent patient information; compile patient medical data. Assist with documentation of patient data into electronic health records system. Manage the physician’s schedule, including clinics, meetings and any other pertinent items.
