With many years of experience working at performing rights organizations (PROs) I am currently a Director of Licensing at Global Music Rights (GMR). I educate and facilitate public performance licensing for businesses using music nationwide. GMR is a part of The Azoff Company, a leading entertainment and media conglomerate that represents some of the most iconic artists and songwriters in the industry. I leverage strong sales skills and a legal background, as well as my social networking and presentation skills, to secure licensing deals with various business sectors. I work with industries like residential, hospitality, education, healthcare, retail, concerts. municipalities and other special events that include music. I was selected by my former employer to be job-shadowed for an article entitled "The Music-Copyright Enforcers" published in The New York Times magazine in August 2010. That story remains to be the largest press piece on the subject matter of public performance music licensing to date. My mission is to advocate for the rights and interests of songwriters and all music creators and users, and to foster a fair and transparent music ecosystem.Prior to joining GMR, I was a publicist at NASH10 Music, where I provided social media management and traditional PR services for indie music artists and other entertainment businesses. I handled brand management, tour promotion, and press related matters. From 2005-2018 I worked for Broadcast Music Inc. (BMI) in Nashville’s General Licensing division. I also held a previous sales position at South College in Knoxville, Tennessee from 2003 to early 2005.
