I recently graduated from Wofford College with a Bachelors of Science in Chemistry. During my undergraduate years, I discovered my passion for learning and my fascination with science, especially in chemistry and medicine. I got involved in two undergraduate research projects which gave me invaluable insight and experiences in the diverse scientific fields of synthetic organic chemistry and freshwater ecology. These projects fostered my appreciation of creative collaborative thinking, precision in gathering data, and data analysis. The clinical internship I held in my junior year at Spartanburg Regional Hospital gave me shadowing opportunities in gastroenterology, surgical oncology, orthopedic surgery, gynecology, ENT, and internal medicine, and the experience I gained only confirmed that I wanted to work long term in healthcare. Recently, I moved to Greenville, South Carolina to start a gap year working at EmergencyMD where I am gaining valuable clinical experience in all areas from working in reception, laboratory technician, and medical assistant.
