• Hired and built-out our “DevOps Team” to facilitate automating the process of deploying legacy and “green-field” applications • Managed projects to move completely to an “Infrastructure as Code” model for all new server deployments and all container cluster VM deployments and upgrades. Implemented the “cattle” model of managing patches across the VM ecosystem • Developed, maintained and enforced standards around the company’s SDLC for internally developed applications • Automated static application security testing (SAST), dynamic application security testing (DAST), interactive application security testing (IAST) across 600+ projects in our application inventory • Designed and facilitated the migration of many of our applications from Docker Swarm to Kubernetes in order to support modern scaling, DR (disaster recovery), and HA (high availability) requirements • Expanded our “container footprint” from 3 clusters to 8 clusters and aided with migrating the tooling and CI/CD processes supporting our pipelines to support the new clusters and environments • Aided in reducing deployment times from 7-10 days to 1-10 minutes across all “legacy” projects

• Hired and manage FAMC's DevOps team to simplify and standardize the way we develop and deliver software• Migration of services from Traefik to Interlock 2.0 and from Docker swarm to Kubernetes (Docker EE 2.0 distro)• Deployment, management, monitoring and maintenance of our Docker Enterprise Edition (Docker EE) clusters, running dozens of stacks, hundreds of services, and thousands of containers. • Deployment, management, monitoring and maintenance of our Docker EE Universal Control Plane (UCP) instances, Docker Trusted Registry (DTR) instances, GitLab Enterprise instances. • Designed, developed and consistently maintain a highly customized continuous delivery platform to facilitate easy pipeline management, user-sandboxes, environment cloning, and much more. All backend work developed using Golang 1.9.x and frontend work developed using Angular 4 and TypeScript. Integrations to-date include UCP, DTR, GitLab, ElasticSearch, Instana, Rqlite, Slack, and Notary. • Facilitated and helped manage migration of Docker EE swarm storage engine from NetApp OnTap (NFS-based storage) to both Solidfire and Pure Storage providers for block-level volume management • Stood up ELK (Elasticsearch, Kibana and Logstash) 5.x clusters (and later migrated to 6.x) monitoring and log aggregation stacks using Elastic.co’s open source versions of Elasticsearch, Logstash and Kibana. Utilized other open technologies including Logspout, Filebeat, Graphana, and Curator to facilitate and automate swarm-level service/application/performance monitoring • Implemented cluster-wide, application-agnostic monitoring (both “host-level” and application level) using Instana and our ELK monitoring stack • Responsible for educating, training and supporting other internal development teams to move to our Docker-based software delivery platform using documentation, hands-on training, and one-on-one sessions.

• Major projects in the API development space included implementing the OData V4 specification across all API endpoints, migrating from proprietary authentication to a centralized SSO authentication provider, reducing file upload overhead by 400%, and applying appropriate modifications to the platform to facilitate easy and seamless scaling using Amazon’s Elastic Container Service (ECS). • Responsible for further development and refinement of development standards and processes, focused specifically around software development lifecycle (SDLC) and coding standards, AWS asset standards, streamlining of communication across teams, and processes supporting the software development lifecycle. • Responsible for all AWS Infrastructure and re-architected all Virtual Private Clouds (VPC) (16 total across two AWS accounts) for high-availability and disaster recovery readiness. • Responsible for auditing, reporting, and compliance (SOC2/SSAE-18) across all SASS products used internally. Coordinated with auditors, vendors, current clients and potential clients to ensure all security and compliance concerns were addressed, documented, and where necessary, remediation in a quick and timely fashion. • Ported a 35+ year old FORTRAN based application to a AWS-based AMI allowing for one-click deployment of a banking system core that would have previously taken 8+ weeks with multiple teams involved

Responsibilities include all of my duties from RevCo as our company was purchased by "DTN / The Progressive Farmer"I am a full stack developer, focusing in particular on back end services but also completing work in front-end and sys-ops spaces regularly. Served as web development team lead and was responsible for the design and implementation of our suite of applications (both web versions and JSON REST API for our iOS team to consume for RevCo's iPad applications)Was responsible for all infrastructure supporting all life-cycle stages of our applications as well as supporting tech-ops infrastructure. All servers are hosted using Amazon Web Services (AWS) and setup in VPCs behind load balancers.Implemented services using a number of AWS offerings including RDS for MySQL storage, DynamoDB for session and settings storage, SES for email services and SQS for distributed PDF generation and data processing.Implemented Chef server and wrote about a dozen custom "cookbooks" for managing infrastructure and bootstrapping new servers as well as managing user accounts and settings across our footprint.Was responsible for implementing team coding standards, application life-cycle standards and processes, code review process, continuous integration processes and technical documentation for our suite of applications.

Design, develop and implement solutions to support the reduction of customer down-time and service needs, increase the productivity of teams responsible for the monitoring and support of field technical operations and to improve the overall customer experience.Key projects:* Developed an application for monitoring, reporting and analyzing pending work orders across the 28-state footprint of the enterprise. The application consumed data from various data sources and provided analytics resulting in over $10 million in savings for the company during its first year of operation, and now saves the company approximately $33 million every year.* Served as team lead on a project involving the design and development of an application platform which can be utilized by any PHP developer in the company to quickly build and deploy applications for use across the enterprise. The underlying framework was designed using the MVC paradigm and Test-Driven Development practices and offers plugin interfaces to extend access to various data-sources. jQuery, jQuery Mobile, jQuery UI, PHP.* Served as team lead on a project involving the development of a disaster recovery application which could be used to quickly identify outages, track restoration progress, track field resources and provide complex reporting in the event of a disaster affecting very large portions of the company footprint.* Streamlined our team’s application lifecycle to include multiple environments (development, user-aided testing and production), release schedules, unified code standards, and a peer code-review process. This process has reduced the number of outage-causing developer mistakes to almost zero in the year that it has been in practice.* Served as team member in deployment, management, maintenance and monitoring of over 300 servers running variants of Windows Server, Debian and Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Solaris and VMWare ESX environments.

Developed applications for clients in PHP ranging from internal messaging systems to mortgage application systems. Designed and spliced templates in Adobe Dreamweaver for client websites, including working with graphic designers to convert our image concept of the site into a working model. Worked with HTML, JavaScript and CSS to ensure proper operation of each website and application in any of the major web browsers.
