As a second-year LMHC student, I am gaining practical experience through my practicum at a community health center, where I am dedicated to supporting individuals on their mental health journeys. I take a relational and person-centered approach, focusing on truly understanding my clients' unique experiences and acknowledging the barriers they face in the world based on their personal circumstances. My goal is to create a supportive and empathetic environment that fosters growth and healing.Currently, I work with individuals with severe mental health challenges at Vinfen, a part of the Department of Mental Health (DMH). This experience is equipping me with valuable skills to become a competent and compassionate counselor.With a background in psychology and sociology, I have a strong foundation in understanding human behavior and social structures. After teaching kindergarten in New Mexico through Teach for America, I worked in Boston on career readiness with middle schoolers, furthering my passion for education, empowerment, and mental wellness.I am excited to continue learning, growing, and empowering the communities I serve as I progress on my path toward becoming a licensed therapist.
