Company changed around me: Rockwell, Meritor, ZF Meritor, and finally ZFPerformed embedded systems software design, calibration, and development work for automated heavy truck transmission projects. These designs use microprocessor driven diesel motor control and electric over air actuators to make a conventional truck manual transmission operate similarly to an automotive automatic. Brought three different products to production. Kept one product continuously in production by resolving a potential intellectual property conflict.Experience with requirement analysis, specification writing, outsourcing, and technical project management. Performed system failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA) and documented system design. Conducted design and FMEA reviews internally and with all of ZF’s North American OEM customers. Maintained technical contacts with engine and truck engineering representatives in order to coordinate future development and validation activities. Familiar with the North American heavy truck and engine offerings.Wrote and executed design validation plans (DVP's). Qualified and debugged interface issues with electronic service tools. Assisted engine and anti-lock braking system OEMs with compatibility tests and in debugging their control software. Created and executed test plans using Society of Automotive Engineers standards, including multiple test programs. Created and conducted product and tool training sessions for product engineers and technicians. Supported our OEM customers during pilot and production launches in their assembly plants. Exercised strong troubleshooting and failure analysis skills. Mentored multiple engineering new hires.Worked for six months in Friedrichshafen, Germany.
