Supervisory Interior Designer
CurrentDesigning patient-friendly environments conducive to healing that are safety and code compliant, aesthetically pleasing, and within fiscal requirements;Managing the day to day request of space design reconfiguration, new or additional furniture needs, signage, wall installations, etc.;Researching, preparing, and reviewing technical interior design specifications;Studying the functions and operations of each medical center service and outpatient clinic to plan and develop designs for the effective use of space;Planning space requirements, estimating growth or shrinkage, and tabulating total square footage for the customer;Preparing space and interior design plans and drawings, using computer aided drafting and software applications, sketching layouts, and preparing drawings for procurement submittals;Serving as point of contact for contract conformance, specifications, budgets, and project scheduling;Providing technical guidance, monitoring contractor performance, and overseeing authorizations regarding interior design issues;Making presentations to customers and executives;Inspecting space during construction, preparation, and upon completion to ensure design intent is being implemented as specified;Developing and maintaining a schedule for short- and long-range projects;Specifies and enters orders for all materials, verifying receipt of orders, and ensuring proper storage and installation;Maintaining the standard finish library for all areas of the hospital and its diverse types of spaces;Maintaining signage and directional graphics to comply with standards;Overseeing the daily operations of the unit, developing performance standards, evaluating the work of subordinates;Giving advice, counsel, and instruction to employees on technical and administrative matters;Interviewing candidates for positions in the unit, recommending appointments, promotions, and reassignments to unit positions;Performing related duties as required.
