I have dedicated my career to helping businesses grow. I believe that entrepreneurship is a catalyst for economic empowerment. Being a business owner myself, I can provide support and technical assistance based on first-hand lessons and hand-on experience.After having directly launched multiple businesses, I am proud to have established procedures and trained personnel to the point where these organizations run without my full-time oversight. I am excited and ready to pursue new projects, including consulting or full-time roles, with the goal of helping mission-focused food businesses thrive.In 1997, I founded Patty Pan, now the longest running farmers market concession in Seattle. In 2013, I collaborated with a team of dedicated and experienced employees to form the Patty Pan Cooperative, a worker-owned organization where member-owners share decision-making and responsibility. The global pandemic has made an impact on how people shop for groceries. As a result, I joined forces with members of another cooperative, Equal Exchange, to form New Day Cooperative Distribution, a producer-owned service that deliver fresh local grocery items to business and residential customers. Throughout my career, I have served as a content creator, writer and teacher. I have written over 500 articles for multiple digital publications. As a teacher, I presented workshops for the City of Seattle Office of Economic Development for startup food businesses, as well as presented Food Business Basics at Shoreline Community College Continuing Education.
