Android and Java software developer

Worked with JBoss Seam and JBoss server on the main application to make improvements and integration with services.On the services side worked with Spring Boot, Hibernate, MySQL etc. to improve and create new services that the main application could use.

Responsibilities include:• Handling bug fix requests.• Adding new functionality through change requests.• Creation of useful tools to aid in development/deployment created in Java.

The main task of this job was maintaining and expanding two private banking applications, offering support and adding new features requested by clients.

• Maintaining and making sure that in-house developed system stays functioning within EMEA without any downtime and for bringing up new instances for different departments. Responsible for adding new requests in custom FIX database using in-house developed tool. Contact for bringing up EMEA version of in-house developed ConfigServer.• Constant communication, both by phone and written, with people based around the world including Poland, Singapore, India and the Unites States.• Responsible for overseeing in-house developed system related releases after market close. These releases would sometimes last until after 8. These extra hours were counted as voluntary extra.

• A one year placement as part of BSc, mainly working with Java. Developed Java program using advanced Java techniques and MySql to be used for the benefit of the enterprise.• Interacting with different departments: Working on the given tasks, I was responsible to find all related information needed to complete it. This included communicating with people from other departments based in different countries.• Small individual Tasks: Individual tasks to improve efficiency within the department. Whilst working on these tasks, I improved my skills in Java, SQL, Business Objects XIR2 and many more tools.• Training: Whilst working in Business Objects, I took courses for better teamwork, integrating with the organisation and using their flagship product at the time, Business Objects XIR2. I also took the opportunity to self learn and develop skills using C++.
