About Devrim Yagmur Durur

I'm a Ph.D. student in the Biochemistry and Molecular Biology program at Michigan Technological University. I'm working in Dr. Tiwari's Lab, which is focusing on protein misfolding diseases such as Alzheimer's Disease. Also, I give a laboratory class "General Chemistry Lab I" as a teaching assistant for freshmen students.I completed the Molecular Biology & Genetics MSc. program after I received my Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry. During my Master's degree, I worked in the Neurodegeneration & Neuroprotection Laboratory at Izmir Biomedicine & Genome Institute under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Şermin Genç. I was involved in different projects that focused on NLRP3 inflammasome, Alzheimer's Disease, extracellular vesicles, microRNAs, infantile cholic, and glioma during my Master's degree. I conducted my Master's thesis based on the role of neuron-derived exosomes in the diagnosis and propagation of Alzheimer's Disease. I'm interested in the neurobiology of neurodegenerative diseases, especially Alzheimer's Disease.
