Graduate from Utah Valley University with a Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering in May of 2023.My senior capstone project consisted of creating a fully autonomous and competitive Table Tennis Robot. I was an electro-mechanical component design and implementation team member for the project, focused on implementing a stable frame and providing quick mechanical movements for the ping pong paddle to be able to reach the ball quickly, as well as wiring all the components properly (see my first post!). It was so fun being able to help design and construct a project with such talented teammates. One thing I learned from the project was that the engineering process is just that -- a process. Most of the design components in the machine took many different design iterations and calculations before becoming a robust piece of the machine that worked as it was intended to do. Many times we were compelled as a team to test, understand the faults, adjust and reimplement ideas until we reached our goal. Communication and feedback from every member of the team was critical to the success of our project!My time at Utah Valley University has been instrumental in providing me not only with an understanding of engineering knowledge and processes, but also with confidence I have in my ability to learn difficult concepts and apply them out in the real world. --Four years of experience in the installation technician industry, being responsible for installing, configuring, and testing home security systems in commercial and residential properties. Insights into the industry have provided me with experience as a contributing team member, customer communication and relation skills on top of all the handywork and technical skills required to complete each installation properly. My time at UVU also provided me with the chance to be a Lab Assistant, where I aided professors in preparation of lab experiments. There I was also able to aid students in custom 3D designs and printing, and assist students in laser-cutting machine usage.-- One aspect of my life I don't get to mention often was my two years of service as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where I lived in South Korea and learned to speak Korean. There, I preached the gospel of Christ while working with many different missionaries from various backgrounds. I held responsibility for missionary work and service projects in several locations throughout the south-west area of the country. I really enjoy Kimchi and Korean cuisine and hope to be able to return one day!
