RESEARCH FELLOW, BRAINLINKS-BRAIN TOOLS, FREIBURG, GERMANYJune 2014 – September 2014 (Advisor: Dr. Tonio Ball) Studied the effect of electrical stimulation on neural tissue (bovine/porcine brains). Gained large-animal experience assisting with implantation and monitoring of novel neuralinterfaces (in sheep). Assisted with sheep neurophysiology.

 Analyzed commercial potential of technologies disclosed to UW C4C (CoMotion) throughquantitative and qualitative market research and IP landscape analysis. Provided weekly written summaries to influence the commercialization strategy taken by theinventor and the University of Washington.

 Lead the development and construction of the Mobile Brain Body Imaging (MoBI) lab atSCCN under the supervision of Dr. Scott Makeig. Developed experimental methods and analysis techniques for the MoBI paradigm. Assisted Post Docs and PhD candidates test and validate EEG and MoBI experiments. Managed software and hardware needs of the MoBI lab..

 Created Wiki-based tutorial and database system with built-in automated PDF generation toupdate existing EEGLAB documentation to help with future project flow. Tested EEGLAB functions to help with error diagnostics and update documentation. Provided research assistance and support as needed by SCCN staff. Assisted with documentation review. Crafted.

Main research focus as part of the Analytical Chemistry Department was to design and implement an automated Plasma Protein Binding Assay to be integrated into the departments developing Robotic Automated ADME drug profiling system. Also was responsible for production level compound solubility assays among other duties.

Gained vital experience in biochemical research, ELISA testing, and manufacturing- Helped create a lateral-flow pregnancy test for cows using milk as the test sample (instead of the traditional blood tests).- Gained experience in the creation and use of HIV, pregnancy, and other disease tests and assays.- Prepared colloidal gold particles and conjugated.
