Just as " Mathematical thinking" he believes that marquee managers are now those with " Technology thinking" capabilities. For e.g. when in 1995, Netscape that had an IPO price of $25 opened in the stock exchange at $75 the 'technology thinker' would not only say that Netscape is a great company but also that the technology i.e internet is a promising one. He/she would then study internet capabilities. In 1995, we understood the internet as a 'market exchange for data' which sounds very drab, while a person as Andrew Grove ( the then CEO, Intel), being a technology thinker would probably have realised how many industries the internet could possibly impact in the future & be closely watching the progress of standardisation & common rules.Deepak was the first CEO of The Institute of Internal Auditors-India (IIA India) and serves on the IIA Global's Advocacy Advisory Committee. He believes that independent directors have an opportunity to add substantial value if they were to provide oversight on emerging strategic risks & push for a risk intelligent cultue. Previously he was in professional self practice for 22 yrs in GRC & Internal Audit and later was associated with KPMG.
