I have completed my Masters in Electrical Engineering and graduated on May 16, 2014. I have been working with PNG Power under the section of Business Performance Engineering as a System Reliability Engineer overlooking Reliability Aspects of Generation, Transmission and Distribution. I did mainly Preventative Maintenance such as;1. Power Quality Logging and Analysis2. Infrared Scanning on live circuits, cables, transformers, bus, switchgear, and also I'm the first person to introduce IR Scanning on Cold Spot as in SF6 Gas leaks on Switching Yards. 3. Partial Discharge on Electrical Equipments internal breakdowns or likewise on detecting Corona Activities on live components.4. Earth Ground Testing on both existing and new earthing. Soil resistively testing was part of my JD.5. Conducting Root Cause Analysis or Root Cause Failure Analysis on any systems failures to identify the causes and provide recommendations for correct remedy to avoid similar occurrences.6. Provide Monthly Reliability reports on each systems and feeders performance to keep track on the overall grid operations.Apart from the above, I was also tasked to redesign both PPL HQ Air Conditioning System (Chiller System) and Data Center Humidifier Upgrades as part of providing support to PPL Property Sections. Design of both has been achieved in collaboration with M&E and QMEC. These are the top highlights of my engagement with PPL during my 7.5 years of services as a Reliability Engineer.
