I have been in the education field now since 2002. I spent 2 years in Beijing as an English teacher, then 4 years in Texas as the head of the mathematics department at NYOS Charter School (teaching high school math), 2008 - 2018 taught at Sino-British College, USST in Shanghai (also served as head of department), and in 2018 started at SMIC as a high school math teacher and head of department. In 2019, I was offered an administrative position at SMIC and served as the director of Student Affairs for MHS and now am assuming the role of Middle School Director. My passion for administration has equaled my passion for teaching.In Texas, I taught Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, Precalculus, and AP Calculus AB/BC. In the last 12 years I have been teaching multiple modules from the NCUK curriculum including: IFY Engineering Mathematics, IFY Business Mathematics, IFY Further Mathematics, Year 2 Introduction to computer programming, Year 2 Engineering Mathematics 1 and 2, and Year 2 Business Statistics. I have had numerous managerial roles including IFY Coordinator, Deputy head of department, and Head of Department. I thoroughly miss teaching in the classroom, but my new role as an administrator is just as fun and rewarding, albeit in different ways. I have completed my Masters of Educational Leadership and am pursuing my Secondary Principal license.
