Big Cypress lodge is a hotel of absolute class and luxury. As the Bell Captain of this hotel, I truly focus on building relationships with our guest, and that comes with understanding their immediate needs. The Bellman understand the concept of gaining the relationship whereas being a new company we have to not just focus on taking luggage to a room, but giving the guest the ultimate experience. The ultimate experience starts with the first person the guest see's and the last person the guest see's. If there is a problem in between then that may affect the total experience of that guest stay.

This position utilizes the CCTV networking security cameras. We have a set time interval whereas we switch from foot patrol and CCTV patrol. Security Command Officer controls entry door's, employee verification, import and export packages, high and low profile escort, removal of guest and/or associates, control all access keys, perform lock interrogation, Lock-Outs, vagrant removal, unwanted guest removal, bag checks, abide by the city and state ordinances and laws, and enforce the code and rules of the hotel.

There are a variety of positions that i have experienced while working at the Memphis Marriott located downtown which includes bellman, security, and guest service aid. I have enjoyed being able to gain relationships with the guest and socializing with the wonderful staff. The Bellman position has taught me that positive relationships with the guest is everything. This gives them something to look forward to when they decide to one day return to the hotel. Just really connecting with the guest emotionally was a big plus that made my job not seem like work, but seemed as if I was home. The Guest service aid and security were a couple of other areas i cross trained. I wanted to learn the different aspects of the hotel so that one day if i wanted to own my own the step of learning how to run the hotel would have already manifested in me.. The duties that were assigned to me were never enough. The primary focus to sum it all up is focus primarily on our guest. I helped in other departments when i didn't have anything to do. I made restaurant listings, welcome packs for the associates, and just basically used my crafts to do whatever in my power to help the hotel move forward.
