Once upon a time I graduated with a 'Master of Science' degree in 'Architecture'. Now, 10 years later, I'm still as fascinated, if not even more, by everything that architecture (can) embody. Next to my work as a licensed architect, I've since successfully added related fields such as photography, Energy auditor, Real Estate Agent and Real Estate Developer to my field of operation. It is now my understanding and belief that architecture is (and if not, should be) a focal point of our human society. It encompasses and connects such diverse (and often seemingly unrelated) fields as engineering and anthropology, physics and sociology, chemistry and art. Architecture is more than just our build environment, it is what heals us, represents us, triggers us, empowers us... To be able to construct great architecture, architecture must not only be pleasant and comfortable for the beholder as well as its user as an entity on itself. It also needs to be able to root itself in the much bigger interplay of (different) socio-cultural layers, which make up our ever changing human world. For this an open mind and a broad range of personal experiences and interests seem to be indispensable.Hence, for me, being interested in architecture, therefore naturally means to be interested in a wide scope of what the world has to offer us. And that is key to me as a person. I'm social and open minded and have multiple interests. Never afraid of new challenges, I try to embrace and learn from everything along my path.
