Freelance mechanic, allround workshop advisor, leader.I am Dewitte Nico and I have a degree in automechanics.Over the years I did several jobs, always in the car/truck business.My career took off at a simple tyre station, and from then on to Volvo Trucks, where Iworked for 12 years.After that, I aimed higher, with a job as brand advisor at TVH parts Co. There I aquired new skills, such as working on projects, administration ...Almost three years later I felt it was time to start my own business, my aim was to buy, sell and maintain cars. However, Covid struck, and I chose security as freelance car mechanic.This way I gained a lot of hands - on experience. First at Eeckhout-Cardoen where I saw the first Ford trucksin Belgium.Next I was recruited by Logi-Technic for my first ever administrative job at Scania Kuurne in Flanders Belgium.Originally I was a service advisor there, but over time my role had become so much more than that.And I did everything from contact with clients over planning to aiding the teamleader in managing the team.Preparing invoices, contacting Scania Assistance, supporthing the service manager and of course my co-workers in the stockroom were also part of my daily tasks.In short, I am an allround worker with a passion for cars and trucks with a wide range of usefull skills.In January 2024 I started als head of mechanics at Sitra transport Ieper. Here I lead a team of 11 mechanics in the workshop. This is a new opertunity for me. And I very much enjoy it.The Sitra adventure stopped after 5 months due to the fact that they found a new head of mechanics as employee. That opened up a new opper for me as Workshop Manager at VDL bus and Coach at Roeselare.
