Academic Program Coordinator
Directly manage a variety of operational and administrative functions related to motivating and preparing high school students who are socially and economically underrepresented in higher education.Plays a lead role in the design, implementation, and supervision of post-secondary programs such as SAT/ACT preparatory workshops, writing workshops, career guidance and academic tutoring. Tracks all program metrics, and create successful continuous improvement to academic programs and career workshops and provides supervision at program sitesCollects and analyzes program data, provide individualized advising to students in regards to educational planning, course selection, career guidance and academic progress.Recruits, hire and supervises all academic instructors, handle HR tasks, and maintain positive rapport with staff, vendors, students and parents.Discuss and reinforce linkages and relationships between instructional program and occupation/career.Participates in related professional organizations serving TRIO personnelAssists Director with planning and implementation of summer educational enrichment component, cultural, social activities, and college visitsProvides college readiness test preparation training and materials to targeted teachers and students (PSAT, SAT, ACT)Assist with post-secondary readiness fairs and informational sessions Inform and, if necessary, refer students to other school resources when academic, attitudinal, attendance, or other personal problems require intervention by other professionals Monitors and evaluates client's progress through program components; monitors service providers through reports and site visits; resolves any problems or provides guidance and counseling
