South Sumatra, Indonesia

Coordinated a carbon capture project in Indonesia to reforest degraded National Park land in a forgotten part of Indonesia critical for its biodiversity. We succeeded with a small grass roots team to plant a million trees and reforest 330ha of tiger, rhino, elephant and tapir habitat. The project employs over 50 labourers who live neighbouring the National Park at any one time at a critical time where employment was scarce due to COVID. I Individually researched and wrote all required documentation in order to legitimise the project under the Verra Carbon Scheme.This project involved the financial planning and management of the entire project, report writing to the funding party, and the macro management of the team. It also required close cooperation and lobbying of the goverment as the project was on public land.ALeRT is a grassroots NGO working in Way Kambas National Park, Sumatra that has recieved grants from top European Zoos, Universities and USFW to conduct reforestation and wildlife conservation projects.

Responsibilities include:- Sourcing high-quality nature-based projects globally. - Assessing projects to determine quality based on additionality, permanence, track record, & and co-benefits.- Consulting Maya and their partner projects on global climate policy and carbon methodologies. - Guiding nature projects on investor preferences.

Chirundu, Zimbabwe

Country manager for all our Zimbabwean based projects including:- the complete management of the 600km2 Protected area including our 8 person service and infrastructure team,- our joint 20-person wildlife protection project,- and our community based programs to empower local woman and recycling initiative. In the 30+ person team I had 8 direct reports and I was responsible financially for the projects. My major achievements included:- Faced with the shutdown of our entire operations in Zimbabwe I secured a long-term revenue source in only 4 months saving the jobs of my team and preventing 5 years of progress being lost. This will protect the wildlife area we managed from hunting for next 25 years if not permanently. - Started a progressive initiative to engage the communities in both Zambia and Zimbabwe in order to increase community-NGO cooperation. This involved various meetings with a range of local people ranging from fisherman to Joint Operations Commanders for the area, the building up of a canoe registration scheme and sport tournaments. The cross-border aspect and relationship to the fisherman was a unique concept not yet done in the area.- Prevented illegal enchroamnet into the Park in my first five months. A goal which was not achieved in the organisation's history for the area.Additionally, I consulted 'Hemmersbach Holding GmbH' on various Environmental, Social & Governance submissions. Finally, I managed the tree planting duties of 'Fieldcode' (a Berlin based tech startup) in Zimbabwe. This includes nursery management and carbon accounting.

Project Manager for our conservation & community programs in South Africa and Zimbabwe. I reported directly to the CEO and my main projects and tasks were:- Community-based permaculture project in Mozambique providing communities with alternative sources of income to poaching. - Led the recruitment of the new General Manager for Rhino Force- A cryovault project based around DNA and IT which required consultation with experts and research teams to formulate and implement sub-strategies. This required me to quickly grasp relevant topics in DNA, rhino reproduction,and genomics to a high level of competency.- Designed an IT database & website that would enable interpretation and function ofthe DNA.- Writing and review of various technical documents for endangered species management, carbon projects, forestry and ecology. - An Anti-poaching unit in the Greater Kruger area that reduced poaching by 80-100% in their areas. For all projects it required the development of strategies & plans covering logistics, financial budgets, cost structures, team structures and management.Additionally, I setup and developed the online advertising for the tech startup and subsidiary of Hemmersbach, Fieldcode.

Nürnberg Area, Germany

Established and progressed projects related to wildlife conservation and social change in Southern Africa. During the time I was the first direct-action trainee for Hemmersbach's intensive leadership course and was selected to be mentored by and report directly to the CEO. My greatest achievement was that I wrote a Rhino Reintroduction Proposal which was reviewed by governments and international experts from the IUCN and WWF.
