These reactions involved intercepting in-situ generated vinylpalladium intermediate via a Sonogashira, cyanation, carbonylative esterification and borylation.-Collaborated with an analytical chemistry group to achieve high-fidelity Biginelli and Diels-Alder reactions using novel microdroplet chemistry techniques.-Identified, with the help of DFT, the outer sphere mechanism of iron-catalyzed fluorine transfer reaction of fluoroamides.-Used DFT to elucidate the inner-sphere mechanism of Grushin’s copper reagent light-mediated, benzylic C–H trifluoromethylation and alkyne bis-trifluoromethylation.-Collaborated with experimental groups to gain a deeper understanding of novel organometallic transformations via mechanistic elucidation and catalyst design using DFT.-Provided a computationally supported rationale for the base-induced selectivity of Pd-catalyzed arylations of triazolopyridines.-Identified the catalytic role of Mn in the borylation of alkyl halides under reducing conditions and helped elucidate a novel catalytic cycle for this process.-Studied the potential pathways of product formation for Pd-catalyzed alkyne insertion/cross-coupling reactions. -
