About Derek Faraci
Born and raised in New York, Derek attended SUNY Purchase where he majored in Literature with an emphasis in Creative Writing. After college, Derek moved to Los Angeles where he worked as a freelance writer and a script doctor before taking a full-time position at Activision, the largest 3rd party video game publisher in the world. While at Activision, Derek worked on many successful franchises including Spider-Man, X-Men, Tony Hawk and Guitar Hero. Derek left Activision and moved to Michigan to join the indie game studio Scientifically Proven Entertainment where he wrote the scripts and produced a number of games, including Man vs. Wild, Trashers, and the award-winning Blood of the Werewolf. Derek was a producer on the independent horror Mosquito Man. He also played a mugger in the film, but his lines were cut because Derek is a terrible actor. Derek has written for a number of well-regarded entertainment sites, including BirthMoviesDeath.com and Blumhouse.com.Since 2021, Derek has been working for Valnet as a Lead Trainer and Editor.
