I lead the Business Intelligence team for Arden & GEM CSU, providing fast and accurate reports on Big Data for the Clinical Commissioning Groups and GP Practices in the NHS for a large part of the country.

I currently work as part of the development team for T2 Group as a SQL Analyst. The main part of my role is to provide highly accurate reporting for the managing director and board group. This has lead to me developing a series of drill through dashboards in Reporting Services which are used by the board to gauge the performance of the company as a whole but are also used in individual one to ones and team meetings. I am also the in house SQL expert and lead the development team, providing database administration for our main databases, resolving performance issues and advising the rest of the team on best practice for database design.I am responsible for our nightly ETL packages, which when I first started were failing every week and causing serious issues but now run reliably with error handling and alerts to make sure there is 100% uptime for our main applications.

I worked for nearly six years as part of the development team within the Royal Mint IT department. During my time there I became the department's SQL and BI specialist, writing SSIS packages, database applications, maintaining views and stored procedures and creating Crystal, Reporting Services and Business Objects reports. I was the lead developer on a Business Objects project which involved creating, administering and populating a new Data Warehouse using Data Integrator software as well as creating Universes, reports and checking data quality. The data warehouse was also used to populate our campaign management software.As a Senior Analyst Programmer I was responsible for managing the projects I worked on, either on my own or as part of a larger project team. I was expected to create high quality software for our internal users with much emphasis on testing and “Right First Time” delivery. My performance was measured as part of the department KPIs and through weekly planning and development reviews.
